Coalbed Methane
- Independent assessment of CBM resources underlying
a large, multiple coal seam deposit in Central Utah. Available drill
hole desorption data and CBM well performance on nearby properties were
assessed, as well as access to the existing gas pipeline infrastructure.
Preliminary opinion of CBM potential reserves was provided, as well
as our opinion regarding current valuation and a strategic approach
to develop the CBM resources while maximizing value to the CBM owner.
- Completed a Phase 1 preliminary evaluation of the
CBM recovery potential at three large underground coal mines in Poland.
Scope of the Phase 1 study included an estimate of CBM resources, overview
of current CBM drainage techniques and practices at each mine, and recommendations
on CBM recovery system techniques.
- Independent assessment and valuation of the active
CBM recovery operations and future CBM reserves of one of the largest
CBM producers in the US. Reviewed and commended on the companys
reported CBM reserves and gas production projections. BOYD then developed
our independent valuation of the CBM operations.
- Completed a desktop valuation of a major coal companys
gas reserves and resources. The operations are predominantly coalbed
methane (CBM) recovery and subsequent sales. Our due diligence study
included a review of reported reserves, existing gas operations, and
five-year forecasts. Forecasts of future gas prices were also reviewed
in assessing risks with overall company business plan.
