BOYD performs mining due diligence studies at the international level. The decline in the number of mining companies continues as parent companies and operating entities announce divesture of their holdings. BOYD personnel have presented papers focusing on mining due diligence for both coal and minerals.

Examples of Boyd Projects for Financial Clients Include:

• Retained to evaluate various Indonesian coal operations as fuel supply sources to a proposed power generating station. Assignment included the development of mine plans and evaluation of reserves using computer modeling techniques. Principal work scope tasks included:

  • Mine plans (on an individual mine-by-mine basis)
  • Forecast of coal sales

    Based on our assessment, we modified available estimates and projections and provided our independent views and opinions.
  
  
  Completed a due diligence study of a major coal producer. During the course of our study, we interfaced with financial and legal representatives and developed a value for the company. Scope of work included:

  • Commissioned by a financial client to complete both preliminary review and Independent Technical Review (ITR) in two phases of a Coal Water Mixture (CWM) operations in People’s Republic of China.
