Brikis Financial Services Company/Resultant Management Group

Brikis Financial Services Company (BFSC) and BOYD Mining and Geological Consultants form a strategic working relationship. BFSC and Resultant Management Group (RMG), an affiliated arm of BOYD, work together focusing on the successful application of corporate finance products and services in the energy, mining, and utility industries.

BFSC, primarily through its President, George Brikis, brings over 20 years of finance and banking experience to the partnership. BOYD, a world leader in mining, energy, and geological consulting, and RMG together contribute a broad range of professional services including portfolio value maximization, value-creating opportunities, mine operational improvement action plans, selling and purchasing of mining properties, and all aspects of due diligence.

This combined team provides creative, objective ideas and solutions for energy industry challenges, drawing upon the complementary strengths and experiences of BFSC and Boyd/RMG. The team’s opinions and recommendations, drawn from differing backgrounds, are a catalyst for positive change. The mission is to cost-effectively apply these creative solutions and ideas, working proactively with senior management to achieve improvements in overall financial performance.


Example Projects Include:

  • Prepared a prospectus of the undeveloped coal holdings of a coal producer in the Pittsburgh No. 8 Seam in Ohio County, West Virginia, and Washington County, Pennsylvania. The prospectus included information on coal and property control, seam thickness, geology and quality, mining potential, transportation, and markets. Maintained a data room in BOYD’s office which was visited by various potential buyers


  • Completed a detailed report on an operating company in the state of Indiana and prepared an information memorandum for submission to potential property buyers. By assignment, BOYD:

    • Reviewed coal sales contracts and contract mining agreements.
    • Confirmed reasonability of coal reserves and quality estimates.
    • Assessed current operating costs, future mine plans, and cost projections.
    • Reviewed environmental liabilities.
    • Valued the operation on a discounted cash flow of future earnings.


  • Retained to assist in the sale of client’s coal holdings in the eastern US. Studied all aspects of the operation, prepared an independent report and offering memorandum, identified potential buyers, and established a controlled data room.


  • Retained by Seller to complete a technical analysis of a coal operation located in North Dakota and to advise on future strategic planning, including possible sale of the operation. Our senior staff worked closely with the mining company’s senior management negotiating the sale of the property.
