- Assessed the operations of a Colombian surface mine in regard to expansion of coal production. Our work scope included an independent evaluation of:
- Reliability of exploration data and reserve estimates.
- Appropriateness of mine plans to extract the reserve.
- Reasonability of equipment specifications.
- Review of infrastructure and support facilities.
- Rail transport network and port facility requirement.
- Accuracy of capital and operating cost estimates.
- Completed an independent economic feasibility study of existing coal mines and new deposits identified for potential future development in Chile. Visited the mines and met with appropriate personnel to:
- Determine current state of technological development.
- Review overall structure and mine plans.
- Identify areas of possible cost reduction.
- Evaluate coal handling and preparation practices.
- Review current and future production projections and capital expenditure requirements.
- Assess future market potential.
- Completed a geologic and mine plan audit of a major coal deposit located in Venezuela. Visited the site to collect data for a report which included an evaluation of:
- Coal reserve quantity and quality.
- Mine plan and cost projections.
- Infrastructure and transport requirements.
- Coal processing.
