Waste Fuel
Completed an evaluation of an existing waste pile located
in Ohio County, West Virginia, for use as a fuel supply source at an
existing generating station. BOYD developed the following preliminary
costs in regard to the waste pile:
- Mining and processing
- Transportation (fuel and ash)
- Ash disposal
- Environmental
- Completed a review of waste coal and anthracite culm
sources for three operational waste fuel power generation facilities
in Pennsylvania. Evaluation included availability of supply sources,
quantity and quality of available material, delivery options and projected
future delivered costs.
- Completed an exploration and sampling program on a coal
refuse pile located in Utah, which was being evaluated as a fuel supply
source for a planned cogeneration facility. Estimated the quantity and
quality of material in the coal refuse pile, and designed a mine plan
to recover both fine and coarse materials.
