• Completed a technical review of the coke plant operations Hubei Province, PRC, for inclusion in a prospectus for listing the Chinese company on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Assignment included visiting the operations and completing an assessment of the ongoing construction of coke facilities and current coal supply sources. An independent technical report was submitted to the client.



• Completed a preliminary study of existing and planned coal mines for a company located in the People's Republic of China. Visited potential mining sites with the owners. The following tasks were included in the study:
  • Overview of the Chinese coal mining industry, including existing market conditions and internal coal requirements.
  • Summary of information on the existing reserve areas, which will include a discussion of geologic and mining conditions, coal quality and reserves, transport issues and potential markets.
  
  
  
• Completed a competent persons report for a large stock offering for Shenhua Coal Company on the Hong Kong exchange. Our technical report was also included in the prospectus. The study included evaluation of underground and surface mining operations, coal washing and handling facilities, privately owned railroad and port facilities and related equipment.



• Employed by the owners of a coke factory to report on the coking coal reserves and quality in three districts in China that will be used to expand coke production.
  
  Reviewed and commented on the availability and reliability of the coking coal reserve base and quality to supply coke to the factory expansion. BOYD engineers visited the operation to collect and review data and to interview appropriate officials.
  
  Completed a site visit to coal mining operations in Shandong and Shanxi Provinces, China, to:
  • Review fuel supply plans for three proposed generating stations.
  • Conduct site visits to select proposed suppliers.
  • Evaluate coal reserves, quality data, and production capabilities of proposed suppliers.
  • Review rail transportation arrangements for moving fuel to station sites.
    
    Submitted a due diligence report on fuel supply and transport plans.
    
    
• Completed an independent review of fuel supply issues in regard to a coal-fired power generating project in Hubei Province, China. Met with Chinese mining officials to assess reliability of supply (reserves, quality, and transport system). Work scope also included comment on:
  • Mine plans
  • Material handling and stockpile issues
  • Alternate coal supplies
  • Market dedication of the coal supply
  • Coal supply and transport contracts

• Completed a due diligence review of the mining and processing facilities for a Mirabilite operation located in Sichuan Province for international project financing use.

• Completed an independent technical review (ITER) of a molybdenum mining/processing operation(s) located in Henan and Shaanxi Provinces for use in a pending IPO filing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. BOYD reviewed the exploration data and computer based geologic model, as well as the mining economics.

• Completed a valuation of iron ore mines and reserves/resources in Hubei Province, PRC for use in a pending IPO filing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The project included an assessment of the geologic data and ore classification as well as an analysis of the current mining operations and future plans.

• Completed a due diligence and fatal flaw review of an operating gold mining complex in Yunnan Province, PRC for private equity lending. All work was prepared in accordance with international (JORC) resource estimation and reporting requirements.
